Two years ago this May, Market Rasen launched its journey to become a Portas Pilot with an Extraordinary ‘Portas Pop Up’ market.
This year from Wednesday 14 to Wednesday 28 May Market Rasen is kicking off its ‘Love Your Local Market’ celebrations with almost 40 stall holders in the historic Georgian Market place from 9am; including Select Lincolnshire for Food Members Greens of Lincolnshire and Lancaster Butchers.
Visitors to Market Rasen can look forward to artisan food, cakes, cheeses, locally grown cut flowers and plants, plus an array of unusual and distinctive gifts from the very best local market traders, including stalwarts like Jill Brown from English Rose who has attended every BIG market and has new fabrics and rhubarb and custard cake and amongst her wares this Saturday.
Market Day visitors can find special offers on the market and deals along the High St wherever they see the MY MARKEN RASEN sticker.
As a taster for Love Your Local Market fortnight [14th - 28th May], Queen St independent retailers, Greens of Lincolnshire and Lancaster Butchers have got together to offer Market Day Specials to give visitors to our double award winning markets a real treat when they explore the High Street.
Fourth generation butcher Richard Lancaster will be offering BBQ packs at special market day prices and Maria Pemberton, who took over the fruit and veg shop, awarded nine out of ten by Mary Portas in her Telegraph magazine column, has Poacher Cheese tastings, King Garden dressings and a prize draw to win £15 veg box for every paying customer.
