Esteemed Woodhall Spa butchers, Russell and Sadie Hirst added yet another award to their ever expanding prize cabinet as they picked up the Bronze Award in the Pasty Class for their Beef Pasty.

The pie was one of 825 pies judged in 19 categories by 108 food experts and celebrity chefs.

Sadie said: "We are thrilled to have won an award in this prestigious national competition. It feel fantastic to have been recognised. We work considerably hard to make sure the products are as good as they can be. The produce that we put forward for competitions is exactly the same as we sell in our shop."

R J Hirst Family Butcher's are currently working to create a number of authentic 1940's products for the upcoming Woodhall Spa 1940's Weekend in July.

What next for the Hirsts? The upcoming Poacher Awards which will be help at the Lincolnshire Showground later this year. We await the event with bated breath!
