Photo Credit: "Belton House South Elevation" by Wehha - Own work. Licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0
Belton is hosting a Summer Fair of Food and Drink on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July 2015. The fair is a celebration of local and artisan produce and aims to showcase what’s great about our regional food and drink.
Where?
The fair will take place in the stableyard and adjacent estate yard at Belton House
Stalls
Belton House will provide a stall for you. These come with a 6ft table and a chair, and measure 10ft X 8ft (3m x 2.4m).
Alternatively, you may bring your own gazebo, for which you are allotted a maximum space of 10ft x 10ft.  If you’d like to bring your own gazebo, you must also bring your own table and chairs and ensure that the gazebo is safely weighted down with 16kg weights at each corner. Ropes and pins are not an option as staking is not permitted.

Stallholder requirements
  • All stallholders must carry their own public liability insurance and employer liability insurance (the latter where applicable).
  • Food producers must hold and show evidence of a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (at least) and evidence of Local Authority Food Hygiene rating.
  • If bringing your own gazebo, it must be secured as directed above and a risk assessment must be provided.
  • Stallholders are required not to sell food and drink designed and intended as a meal for consumption at the fair itself. For example, selling drink by the cup or glass, bacon rolls, chips and similar hot food, wraps and sandwiches etc… are not permitted as these will conflict with Belton’s catering offer. If you require clarity on this point regarding your product, please ask. Handing out free samples is permitted.
  • Permission to bring a generator is dependent upon the submission of details of your generator and subsequent approval that it is safe and suitable for use at the event. If you have a generator that you wish to bring, identify this in the booking form and details will be requested to allow or disallow its use.
  • Any stallholder that currently supplies Belton House (shops or restaurants) is requested to sell their produce for the same price as the National Trust.
  • The fair begins at 9.30am and finishes at 5.30pm each day, stallholders will be required to set up, take down and remove all vehicles outside of these times. Specific access requirements and further information will be sent to you upon confirmation of your application.
  • All electrical items must have an up to date PAT certificate.

Making 2014 even better
The event organisers have made a few changes this year. Members of the public will enter and exit the Fair through the Exhibition Hall, and not through the entrance marquee as in previous years.  In addition, the members preview evening wine reception will be held in the cookery demonstration area in the Exhibition Hall, to avoid the bottleneck which builds up in the Epic Centre.  Please note however, that the Show desk will remain in the Epic Centre as in previous years.

Plans are in place to offer members of the public a varied timetable of demonstrations in the cookery demo area this year.

Call out for cookery demos

SELECT PRODUCERS GO NATIONAL AT MEETING SHOW 2014

Meet Lincoln, the business arm of Visit Lincoln, attended the annual Meeting Show in London to promote the conference and venue offering of the city to event buyers from across the globe.

Flying the flag for Lincolnshire on the exhibition stand were also some award winning Select Lincolnshire producers, including Modens, Stokes of Lincoln, Goodies of Lincoln, Pipers Crisps,  and the Cheese Society.

Clare Williams, marketing co-ordinator for Visit Lincoln organised Meet Lincoln’s exhibition stand for the Meeting Show.
“The three day event stood Lincoln shoulder-to-shoulder with other UK and international destinations that offer conference and event facilities”, she said.

“Overall the Meeting Show attracted 3,000 walk in visitors and 750 hosted event buyers, all of whom were looking for new city venues to host their conferences and events. We were thrilled with the attention that our exhibition stand generated, and we left the event with many new enquires and contacts that we’re following up on now.

“One of the main draws of our stand was the local Lincolnshire produce that was on offer - in particular the Moden’s plum bread! Having a unique, yet quality offering in Lincoln really caught the attention of the event buyers. And we are now working hard to turn some of those enquiries into large scale event bookings for the city”.

Attending the Meeting Show with Meet Lincoln was Lincolnshire Showground and BG Venues.

Support was also offered by Flowers by Suzanne, Modens, Stokes of Lincoln, Goodies of Lincoln, Pipers Crisps, DoubleTree By Hilton, Lincoln University, White Hart Hotel and the Cheese Society.

LINCOLNSHIRE HEADS TO BREMERHAVE FOOD FESTIVAL, GERMANY

If you would like to be involved please email Amy.Macdonnell@Nelincs.gov.uk
All produce needs to be ready to leave by week commencing 14 July.

Bremerhaven is the largest town on Germany's North Sea coast. It is situated on the margins of the River Weser, and like Grimsby, it is a commercial port with links to the fishing industry.

At the end of July, between Tuesdays 22 to Monday 28 July, North East Lincolnshire Council will be taking the very best of the county’s cuisine to Bremerhaven to show off at its annual Food Festival.

Would you like to display your food and drink?
Over the five day food festival, North East Lincolnshire Council will be promoting the county to thousands of visitors.

For over 100 years Bremerhaven has enjoyed promoting and exposing some of the finest cuisines and delicacies to visitors from all over the world at the event.

Every year the town attracts thousands of visitors for the Summer Festival. During this time Bremerhaven becomes a 24/7 centre for music, food, dance and beer.

The festival includes a 'Partners in Europe' section where representatives from many of Bremerhaven's twins in Europe [including Grimsby] will take the opportunity to meet and share experiences- not to mention culture and economic information.

Alongside Grimsby, the European partners include Cherbourg, Fredrickshaven, Pori, Scezin and Kalininegrad.

The event will attract Europe's media attention. Coupled with exposure to both Bremerhaven and North East Lincolnshire food guides, magazines, tourism events, telegraphs and journals.

Bremerhaven is a progressive city which has now redeveloped its fish docks to accommodate processing facilities, restaurants, offices and training centres for the fisheries industry.

Why Bremerhaven?
Grimsby's partnership with Bremerhaven was established as far back as 1963, making it one of the oldest twinning arrangements in the country.

Similarly to Grimsby, it has car ferry terminals and an international distribution centre.

Because of its close connections with North East Lincolnshire, one of the main reason for attending is to emphasise and promote Lincolnshire as a quality destination to visit by ferry from Bremerhaven, as well as Lincolnshire’s award winning food and drink.

Transportation
Any Select Lincolnshire for Food members who wish to send produce to the event will have access to dry freeze facilities, plus a fridge and chiller at the event to keep any produce cool.

Deadline
If you would like to be involved please email Amy.Macdonnell@Nelincs.gov.uk
All produce needs to be ready to leave by week commencing 14 July.
