Welcome to the Spring/ Summer edition of Good Taste celebrating Lincolnshire’s local food and drink.

We’re delighted to tell you that, for the first time, you can catch up with Good Taste Magazine online. Just scroll through the pages on your computer, tablet or mobile.

In this Spring Summer issue we are both getting to know our barbecues and our onions. Rachel’s Potato and Onion Pie is delicious enough to turn you vegetarian and I can also vouch for the Raspberry Frangipan as Equally moreish.

Sightings of red kite on the Swinstead walk are spectacular and the Wainfleet walk has all the advantages of starting and finishing at Batemans Brewery!

We go low tech on firewood and with the aid of digital technology cook remotely. We have 12 months to go before Lincoln Castle is revealed in its new clothes on 1st April, 2015. There are so many different dimensions to the project that it never fails to fascinate and on page 23 we share some of our Castle sounds.

In times of stress I find a good old fashioned list calms the nerves, so our example on page 38 dating from 1630 shows good project management skills!

Finally, many congratulations to our Select Award winners who all take sourcing great Lincolnshire produce as top priority. Well done one and all!
